  • Open Question: Is mining an easy career to get into?

Hello from England! Firstly, let me say that I know the mining industry is pretty much dead here. I am willing to travel world-wide. I have no mining experience or qualifications but I want to give it a go. Would it be possible for me to become a miner (of any material, as long as it is shaft and not open-pit)? I want hard work in an unforgiving environment and I think that mining take some beating. What is a day's work like, can you give me a rough idea of the money, and what are the plus and minus points of this career choice? Thanks.

  • Open Question: I Have an AS Level Graphic Design Problem! Please Help?

I am currently studying AS Level Graphic Design in college and we are half way through the course but I want to try and aim for the highest grade possible. Our theme for this year is the Environment and we had to branch off from that and I have chosen nature. Can anyone give me any advice to get a high grade? I would prefer it if answers were as mature as possible. People who have done Graphic Design before and got high grades would be best. Thanks X

  • Open Question: Re-calibrating Ford Fiesta MK4 speedo / Changing wheel diameter to decrease engine strain?

Hello I am looking to put a higher diameter wheel on my Ford Fiesta MK4 as I drive on motorways a lot and want to bring my MPG down a bit save on fuel and the environment. I do know that changing the wheel diameter will affect the speedo due to the ECU thinking my wheels are smaller than they are and working out the wrong speed. I want to go to the maximum diameter my car will allow, which I also need to know as well if anyone has any enlightenment. I currently have 13" wheels want to go to 14". Speed goes up to 100mph, but is maxed out on revs, would rather it go a bit slower but have revs down a bit to save fuel. All sensible advice apreciated

  • Open Question: What do the Environment Agency test for in River pollution (or no test for)?

What do the Environment Agency test for in River pollution (or not test for)? When they are testing for pollutants in rivers, what tests do they mainly concentrate on, ie. is it mainly looking for chemical and biological pollutans. And do they miss anything out? For example, do they no test for heavy metals? Hope someone can help Sorry, it has to be specific to the Environment Agency. There are plenty of tests out there, but the EA is specialised and need specifics. Thanks
