As automobiles became more popular, and convienience essential, the idea of attaching the garage directly to the house grew into a common practice. While a person with a separate garage must walk outdoors in any type of weather, a person with an attached garage has a much shorter walk inside a building.

Resolved Question: How to move electrical socket further from gas hob?

We're having a new gas hob installed as part of a kitchen revamp and I gather the electrical socket has to be moved at least 300mm to the side of the hob, as building regs have changed. Is it possible to move it straight over to one side or do we need a new ring main as well, as one contractor has suggested?
