Hi, One of my friends is interested in becoming a courier driver. He has his own car and clean UK driving licence. 1) Does he need to have a special licence or special insurance for his car(presently he has a full comprehensive insurance) 2) Any idea where he can apply for this sort of job? 3) Any idea about the paying rates. I met a person recently who does courier service using a motor bike and get paid weekly a min of £600. Thanks

A woman whose son goes to the same school as mine recently had her son taken away by social services for abusing him, however she tells everyone including the council (She lives in a council house) that he lives with her when he doesn't. I suspect it is because she is still claiming child benefit for him. If so would this be benefit fraud? Or would social services have informed the council? She also claims other benefits (not disability benefit though) when she is not ill and infact regularly runs and does everything else a normal healthy person can do. I'm a mother of three and work full time as a cleaner, i often come home exhausted and miss out on spending time with my children but i have to do this in order to pay the rent and it really angers me when i come across people abusing the benift system when they are perfectly capable of working. Could i report her to the DWP?

I've had a problem for the last week with the pilot and burner for the system. I've had an engineer out and he has serviced and cleaned the system and also put a new thermocouple unit on. It would appear as though the pilot light is going out and therefore the burner is cutting out. The pilot light takes about 4 or 5 goes to light it, then it eventually stays on. However not long after the burner goes on (between 20 mins to an hour) the burner has gone off and the pilot light is out. Any suggestions? I seem to have covered all the regular options of cleaning serving and thermocouple unit replacement... Cheers! Do you know if either of these jobs would be expensive - Gas Valve or Electro Magnet Pilot failure system?

Some years ago I purchased a wonderful Bemis moulded loo seat model 1440TTA which has lovely Top Tite plastic hinges and Hex-Tite fixing bolts which make it really sturdy and safe to use but now I just noticed the coated finish under the seat rim has started to corrode badly, I wash my Bemis regularly using mild bleach cleaner and wondered if this was causing the finish to wear down. I don't want to buy a new seat as I love my 1440TTA which has given loyal service for over ten years now. I spoke to Bemis in Sheboygan Falls and they advised I replace but at nearly £52 plus shipping it seems very expensive. Is there anything I can do to stop this corrosion damage from spreading further ?
