  • Open Question: London- most magical places/parks/conservatories/gazeebos/ fake beaches/ spots in your opinion?

I need ideas where to take my date. I'd like to set up a picnic in a park or magical romantic spot. A Lake. Boathouse. conservatory. Park. Indoors preferred as it'll be at night. Maybe there are fake beaches, lakes, reservoirs? I don't know the city at all so any ideas (not touristy as my date lives there) are welcome!

  • Open Question: How do I fix curtains or blinds in my conservatory without drilling holes?

We have a conservatory that measures 3 metres by 4 metres. We want to put up curtains or maybe blinds but are aware that as soon as we drill any whole in the PVCu frame we invalidate the warranty. We do not have the funds to get a company into do it so would like to know how we fix things up and where is a good place to find the parts to do it. Many thanks

  • Open Question: My friend's cat seems to be poisoning itself by licking cement.?

It has had blood tests at the vet who has never heard of a cat doing this before. If the cat exits via front door it goes straight to where some insects have been digging and leaving a sandy deposit and licks that. Nothing wrong in the blood tests. Probably will have an ultra sound next week. When I saw my friend and the cat, I hardly recognised the cat, it had lost so much weight and it's eyes seemed dull. My friend works long hours. The cats (she has two cats) have a cat flap from kitchen into conservatory, and then a tunnel and flap into the garden. The sick cat doesn't seem to want to go further than the conservatory. She does pick grass for it. Originally thought it was sicking fur balls, but now just sick with no fur balls. Can anyway help us get this cat better? Please? Thank you.

  • Open Question: under-counter fridge freezer?

Hi there, My fridge-freezer has just packed up. Could someone please advise me asap, if it is OK to use and ordinary under-counter fridge and freezer in a conservatory, where it's mainly glass and gets very cold, or do I need special appliances to deal with the climate? Thanks, any advice will be much appreciated. PS, I read that is should be with twin thermostat, is this correct or does it really matter?

  • Open Question: HELP.. urgent advice needed about fridge/freezer.?

my fridge/freezer has just packed up. I'm a silly ol sole of 70 not understanding much of these things. I see now that it says not to be put in a cold environment such as garage, conservatory etc where mine has been where it's obviously too cold for it. Can someone advise me what the best kind would be to buy, one that can cope with the cold or heat in summer. I'm told that it has to be one with twin thermostat, is this correct. Please, any quick advice will be much appreciated as I'm worried about making the wrong decision. Thank you.
