It's very old and has gone a bit rusty looking inside. It's no longer in use and I'd just like to go over in black and refresh it a bit. I'm not sure what metal is it though. All I know is it's an old house! What paint do I need? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, I was given a watch for my 18th birthday from my mum, I don't know how expensive it was but it is very sentimental. I seem to have misplaced it and I've searched all over but cannot find it. I remember leaving it on the fireplace and my mum telling me off for leaving it lying around. It's gotten to the point where I'm considering telling her. She's the type of person to put it in her room to teach me a lesson if I had left it lying around but I can't be sure and I wouldn't want to upset her by telling her it's lost.
