  • Open Question: my conservatory is leaking between the cill and full height window frame, any ideas ?

The frame clicks on to the cill, I fitted the conservatory 6 years ago. The water is coming from under the window frame above the cill. The drain holes are completely clear. • Open Question: We have a really old fashioned Mahogany Conservatory...?

We are updating our house to a more contemporary style. Has anyone ever painted their conservatory? I am thinking of painting the mahogany stain in a gloss cream finish?

  • Open Question: How do I remedy newly plastered walls that have been bonded with pva?

We have newly plastered walls in our new conservatory. The plasterer advised putting diluted pva (5:1) prior to emulsion. We did this and then put 3 coats of vinyl silk (old paint) as an undercoat. Unfortunately, one wall has peeled almost completely back down to the plaster. Assuming we can remove all the emulsion, how do we now prepare the walls for the paint? How do we remove the pva which was first applied? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  • Resolved Question: is it practical to use wallpaper in a conservatory?

  • Voting Question: Removing old masking tape from polycarbonate roof?

Please - can anyone suggest a way of removing a large quantity of masking tape - been left on for weeks due to poor weather, and inability to finish varnishing conservatory roof. Now almost impossible to get the tape off. Have tried white spirit and specialist stuff called "Sticky Stuff Remover".The tape is proving almost impossible to remove, and when the paper is laboriously scraped off-it leaved the adhesive behind. Please help,I'm desperate. I phones Screw fix "Helpline" to be told that "I'm not allowed to advise you in case what I say results in you wrecking your roof, and you sue us" What the hells he doing on a help desk?
