  • Resolved Question: Electrical Rewiring Query?

An elderly neighbour is having her bungalow re-wired next week. The trunking in each room has to be removed and the wiring set back into the wall. Do the contractors isolate one room at a time, or does the whole bungalow have to have it's electrical supply turned off while this is done? She was first told it would take 2-4 days, now the company are saying 10 days? Can any qualified Electricians advise please. The old lady in question is mostly immobile, recovering from a broken hip. Her fear is that her Vaillant boiler which provides the heating would be turned off, during this work, and she would be very cold.

  • Resolved Question: How to move electrical socket further from gas hob?

We're having a new gas hob installed as part of a kitchen revamp and I gather the electrical socket has to be moved at least 300mm to the side of the hob, as building regs have changed. Is it possible to move it straight over to one side or do we need a new ring main as well, as one contractor has suggested?
