Converting your attic is a cost effective method of extending your home. Another benefit of a loft conversion is that it increases value to the house. It is always a good desicion before going ahead with the building work that you get advise off either an Architect, Surveyor and/or Structural Engineer. You still need to gain planning applications from the local council and the construction of the existing roof will be a major factor of whether or not a loft conversion is achievable to gain extra living space.
We live in a 2 bedroomed house, which we own. Our children are 6 and 7, boy and girl. It is getting very difficult having them sharing a room due to my sons difficulties. Also our daughter has bowel problems which make her soil herself, so she also needs her own space. I am also disabled and unable to work, which means we cannot afford to take on any more debt.
