I'm about to decorate my dining room in my rental accomodation. In the dining room there is a pinkish carpet (which I cannot remove because its rental :-( ) and I have a mahogony fireplace which is an original feature. I'm painting three walls cream and was wondering what I colour I should paint my feature wall (the one with the fireplace on) that would compliment the mahogany of the fireplace but also go with the horrible pink carpet. I would buy a rug but have lack of funds and therefore am unable to find a big enough one in my price range. Please help me as I'm clueless. I'd like a bit of colour and therefore don't particular want all walls to be cream. And I really don't want pink. Thank you

Having reached retirement age and sick of the cold wet weather in England we are thinking of moving to Cyprus. We have been there a few times and love it. Can anyone tell us how we go about this please ? What requirments do we need ? Is work easy to find if needed - part time painting decorating etc. Also for a daughter who works in Fitness/gym and also been letting estate agent. may come with us. Is it better to rent or buy property - how long does it take to do this and what costs are involved ? What about health service costs - hospital, doctors, dentists. any other information would be very welcomed.

i'm young teen i've already painted but want to make it look cool (putting things on the wall) and brightening it up

I'm decorating my bedroom. I have 1 big wall, 1 with door, 1 with window, and 1 mostly covered with fitted wardrobes. I'm going to paper my big wall and the one opposite (the one with fitted wardrobes. (that one is completely covered on 1 half, and on the other half there's a desk at bottom and cupboards at top (the small square cupboards that almost touches ceiling. The wallpaper is silver (like tinfoil, really shiny) You cant see your reflection though as theres small designs on wallpaper (not ink designs, like maks) I have bought the wallpaper so if you have any other ideas it must include that but if not please tell me what colour matches. I've just left secondary school and got ok GCSEs and I'm supposed to be starting a Painting and Decorating course at college next week but I just can't be bothered. I've had a right good summer doing chuff all and the thought of going back into education makes me feel sick. I hated school and I can't be bothered with college. Should I go?
