  • Open Question: Why is aluminium not used more often as a house exterior cladding?

Caravans are made of it and the prefabs after WW2. It doesn't rot and can be colour coated. It would seem an ideal material with modern insulation so why not use it and save the trees?.

  • Open Question: Has anyone had Nuaire ventilation systems installed?

We have really bad condensation in our flat and have tried everything (wall insulation, double glazing, loft insulation, opening windows etc). We have heard that a Nuaire drymaster would help with this problem so we were considering having one installed along with one of Nuaires multipoint extraction untis. Has anyone used products from this company? Are they any good? Thanks

  • Resolved Question: can cavity wall insulation be done at any time? and a few other qu?

I'd like to get it done at our house but can it get done at this time (Dec)? • Resolved Question: Problem with condensation on single glazed windows and heat loss?

Hi Basically we moved into our new house in the summer and both the downstairs and upstairs have massive bay windows, which are both single glazed. We've noticed that now come the winter, the bedroom window, not so much the downstairs window, is constantly covered in condensation come the mornings. Weve tried leaving the windows open day and night, and this has worked a little, but I want to put nets up at the windows but obvously with the amount of condensation there is at the moment these would be soaking wet!! Ive been reccomended to use the window insulation film to keep the heat in the house and hopefully save on heating bills, i was just wondering if anyone has used these and if they actually save any heat? also, if I put these on the windows, will it stop the condensation at all? And if those condensation crystals are any use?? Any advice would be great, cheers
