The public sector can provide the perfect working environment for contractors driven by the desire to work on large-scale projects as the public sector is that part of economic and administrative life that deals with the delivery of goods and services in relation to the government, whether national, regional or local/municipal.

  • Open Question: Public sector or private sector?

does anyone know any examples of public sector or private sector bodies in the uk?

  • Open Question: is it time to be planning to leave the UK?

With the rate we are spending money there will have to be either massive public sector cuts or massive rises in tax or both, in the medium term. Can anybody see any light at the end of the tunnel?

  • Voting Question: With the current media/public opinion, should i pursue my career ambition?

Basically im going to uni next year to train to be a social worker, something i have really wanted to do however with current public opinion and critisisms of the social services, is it really worth it? my reasons are that i sincerely want to help and protect people, particularly children or abused women (and men, it does happen). the cons seem to outweigh the pros and i would like to know, particularly from those working in/dealing with social services, wether it is a rewarding career that will actually help those, or what the downfalls are. and by reward i dont mean monetary, as astonished as i am at the pay scale in the public sector. so what your experiences? is it worth wanting to enter this profession? is there some other path i can take with a social work degree?

  • Resolved Question: uses of vote book, financial emcumberance, expenditure warrante in public sector accounting?

what they are use for and how they are used

  • Resolved Question: Should Gordon Brown's slogan be "No you can't"?

He has established a Public Sector that can't achieve its targets, and in our personal lives, there are a whole host of things that are now illegal, or taxed into submission. Tell me your opinions, it just seemed appropriate as I thought about it!
