The night drew in and the cold wind howled. I shivered as I tucked myself deeper into the duvet, trying to shut out the icy air that surrounded me. From across the room I could see my reflection in the fractured glass of an old ornate mirror. I had long brown hair, almost past my waist, round green eyes that seemed maybe too big for my face, and I had thin lips which would have been almost invisible if I hadn’t of been so cold. But instead they were prominently blue and clashed horribly with my eyes. Beside the mirror was a grandfather clock, it chimed 11 times, each chime made the hairs on my arms stand up, they went right through me. It was weird I’d heard that clock every day but I never got used to the chime.
The wind was whipping at the window panes, which I was certain, were going to break any minute. Many already had cracks upon them and a few even let ivy sneak in.
