I recently started a new job and as yet I've not been given a contract to sign. And as ridiculous as it sounds, it also means I'm not 100% sure of how much wages I'll be getting. I asked my actual boss about it all but she can't give me any answers as it's the Council HR department who are dealing with it all. Obviously my boss has spoken with HR to try to hurry it up, and I've emailed them myself. But they're being a bit slow off the mark and haven't got back to me. All they said to my boss was that they were dealing with it. (my boss has also said it's the worst council she's ever worked for by the way!) I really just want to know if anyone can give me a clue on where I stand within this company if I haven't seen or signed a contract? Also, if I decide to leave, do I have to give notice? Thanks.
