Floor - Fit Only
Interior designers agree on one thing: there’s nothing quite as durably stylish as good-quality tiles carefully chosen, well-designed and properly applied.

Always plan the design and layout of tiled floors on paper first, especially if you are going to mix shapes and designs. Take account of the fixtures and fittings in the room as the design will have to work alongside these features. Try to avoid patterned tiles at internal corners where they will have to be cut and the beauty of the design could be lost. Also try to avoid using a quarter or less of a tile on an end wall, as the small parts are very difficult to accurately cut without breaking the small end section. Remember to remove an inward opening door before starting to tile the room because the tiling will raise the level of the floor. Adjustments will be required before re-hanging the doors. Also remove any cupboard doors at floor level before starting.
Open Question: our bath has black and white ceramic tile that is from the 1930's. It appears very dull but looks great wet.?
dull but shiny and bright when wet. Is there a top coat/varnish to help keep that look.
Open Question: How would you jazz up white kitchen cupboards?
We are in rented accommodation, our landlord is having a brand new kitchen put in for us (yes we know how lucky we are), he is however getting one that has pure white cupboards doors, I want to jazz them up a bit as I have 2 large dogs and with the best will in the world white will not stay white for long, any suggestions on how we can do this? I thought about transfers but they all seem to be for tiles.
Would love to hear your thoughts/ideas.
Thanks.
My landlord won't care if I paint them pink with blue spots and as for the dogs he loves dogs and has 2 of his own. However I don't want pink with blue spots.
I love the stencil idea.
If or when we were to move (we have lived here for 34 years now) so possibly in a pine box, my landlord will rip the whole lot out and redo it anyway, believe me we know him VERY well.
Open Question: What is the mortar mix for securing roof tiles at the verges?
Open Question: What's the name of the game where you play as either Celts or Romans?
When I was younger I used to play this game, something like Shadow-vale or or a name of a place anyway. I can't remember for the life of me what it was called. You play as a Celt or a Roman and fight enemies of the opposite armies. You begin in your town (whose name is the title of the game, I think?) and leave to travel to surrounding places. It was a one-move system so you just moved one tile in the world and everything else only moved one tile as well. The fight system consisted of you clicking on the enemy, selecting either "Attack or Parry" and you could shoot arrows at far-off enemies too.
