Quotatis forms strategic partnership with FENSA

When having windows and doors replaced, homeowners MUST comply with current thermal performance standards and ensure that they get a certificate of compliance from FENSA or from Local Authority Building Control.

FENSA currently works with over 9,000 Registered Businesses throughout England and Wales.

An independent report commissioned by the Government found FENSA to be the most successful of all competent person schemes to date in the UK, across all industries. FENSA is the leading brand recognised by consumers, all Local Authorities, industry and Government.
Why homeowners should use FENSA?

fensa
  • The FENSA standard is the industry standard for self replacement window and door installers self certifying compliance with the building regulations.
  • The recognised industry leader, FENSA guarantees customer satisfaction.
  • FENSA is the leading brand recognised by consumers, all local authorities, industry and government.
  • FENSA is set up by the industry, run by the industry, for the industry to help protect homeowners.
  • Together with FENSA, the industry is moving forward.
  • Lost homeowner certificates are easily ordered online.
  • FENSA doesn't demand a particular insurance scheme - homeowners and installers have freedom of choice.
  • Homeowners owning multiple properties across different local authorities can use a single FENSA registered business who will work towards one consistent standard of rules, instead of obtaining approval from the building control authorities separately

  • Open Question: Any ideas how to get birds out of toasters?

So a 6 days ago i was in the kitchen drinking a glass of milk when suddenly a bird flys through the open window and into my toaster, it's gotten stuck but im 100% sure its ok. I then realized the next day this is problem because the bird keeps eating my BREAD. I tried taking the bird out of the toaster with some spoons. I made sure they were metal spoons so i didn't get shocked. Two days ago i ran out of bread so i started putting mayonnaise in the toaster to feed the bird. What should i do? Should i buy more bread?

  • Voting Question: Advice needed on blackout blinds?

I want to get a blackout blind for my daughter's bedroom, her window is west facing & with the summer coming, the sun streams thru the window at bedtime!!!! Is it better to get a blind which fits inside the window (ie right infront of the glass)? Or to fit over the outside of the window (ie just behind the curtain)? It'd be really annoying to get a crack of light peeking through!! Also, most blinds are sold in feet ... her window (glass length) is JUST over 3ft (maybe an inch over, how annoying!!), do I have to buy 4ft & cut it down? Thanks in advance.

  • Resolved Question: Whats the name of this film about an underwater shark laboratory gone wrong?

Basically theres this huge underwater laboratory where they study great white sharks with certain drugs. And they give some sharks a drug that makes them go mad and one charges towards the big glass window (i remember this scene) and breaks it. Then all the workers form a team and they all try to get to the surface as the water gets higher. It's a bit like the Posiedon Adventure. And I also remember this one scene where they are climbing up this huge verticle tunnel by a ladder, and all of a sudden it starts to fill up with water (and a few sharks) and a woman falls into a sharks mouth legs first and gets eaten in a very dramatic way. I think there's also one scene where a man is leaning into a docking hole in the floor where they bring in the sharks (this is still underwater) and a shark rips his arm off, but that might have been another film. Does anyone know what this film is called?

  • Resolved Question: why do plumbers always fit radiators under the window?
